Gossip Girl’s Momentous Finale Cliffhanger Planned

Gossip Girl executive producer Joshua Safran has revealed that the show is still waiting on the go signal for the sixth season. The end of the current, season five, is not until May, but they have to start preparing for the finale.

And he says, they are not preparing for any end to the series, just the season itself, and they will definitely have more stories to tell. Suffice to say, there’s going to be a huge cliffhanger at the end of the season. The show deserves at least one more year to wrap it all up and give the viewers a satisfying ending.

“I’m hoping it goes another year and then I think if it were to end then, it’d be okay. If it were to continue, I’d be super happy as well.”

For now though, the real focus is on what is going to happen in the show’s 100th episode, the much-awaited wedding. And the producers say it’s going to be a nod to the very beginnings of the series. When they prepared the big story, they had to watch some of Gossip Girl’s past episode again so they can have a few notes and touches, a homage to the earlier season.

Gossip Girl: Kaylee DeFer Cancels Engagement

Gossip Girl star Kaylee DeFer has officially called off her engagement to her boyfriend Mike Pereira, a jewelry designer.

The actress, who plays Ivy Dickens pretending to be Charlie Rhodes on the series, was said to have confirmed this at the Gossip Girl party recently.

She said that she had been engaged for a long time and has now decided to call it off. Back in October, the actress excitedly showed off her gorgeous engagement ring.

Sources close to Kaylee said that the move to New York to work on the Gossip Girl set may have caused a strain on the relationship. But it’s not clear whether or not the couple are indeed broken up. The actress says that they have decided to put on hold the wedding, but she will still can still become the “bridezilla” if she wants to and start preparing for the wedding.

Kaylee has returned to the show after a brief break and will be appearing in the series’ Valentine’s episode to wrap up her Ivy/Charlie storyline.

Her character will not be in the most anticipated wedding on television, though.

Gossip Girl: Ed Westwick Thinks It’s Time Chuck Bass Moves On

Over the past two seasons, Chuck Bass, the character Ed Westwick plays on Gossip Girl, has transformed from this scheming guy into a love-sick puppy. He no longer has flings and is bent on doing “good things”. It’s quite hard to believe. Even Blair doesn’t believe he’s change his ways.

And for the actor who plays him, Ed Westwick thinks that Chuck’s “maturity” makes the character less fun to play with.

He says in an interview with TV Guide that it was so much fun playing the old Chuck Bass, who was a playboy. “That’s like the fantasy for any young man, so it made him so much fun to play. Now he’s like a lovesick puppy. It’s like, dude!

The new Chuck is so much closer to his own person, saying that he himself has matured and have bought his own house, which means he’s responsible for mortgage payments and everything else that goes with it.

The show is still in the bubble for renewal, but Ed Westwick has time and again declared that he no longer wants to have his contract renewed for the sixth season.

“I feel like I’ve done everything! But I don’t write the show, so if they come up with something where I’m reading it and go, ‘Oh wait! We can do this. He can fly!’ then who knows.”

[Updated] The End of the Affair Fashion Review: Blair Waldorf

Blair is trying to heal from the horrible accident earlier in the month, and the loss of her child. She came out of hiding in a McQ by Alexander McQueen Trompe l’Oeil Blazer and an Alexander McQueen Vest. I am guessing that she is wearing a black dress underneath the McQueen pieces. This look is less B and more Jenny Humphrey. But even so, I kind of like this look. The dark dress setting the mood perfectly, paired with the white vest to give it contrast and then adding a plaid blazer on top to give it edge and color. She is also wearing a pair of black patterned tights. Her hair is curled and parted to the side.

Her second look included a Vera Wang Gisele Spring 2011 Wedding Gown, which was going to be herwedding dress until she lost her child and could no longer stand to wear it. Personally, I kind of melt at the sight of this gown, simply because it’s so Blair! The layers of organza and tulle creating this gorgeous skirt and the tight bodice with the embellishments on it is perfection on the highest level!

Look Number 3 included a Diane von Furstenberg Trelodie Tie Top in Curry, and Alice + Olivia Boucle Skirt and a Gryphon Sherlock Cape. This look is the epitome of Parisian Chic. I simply just die for the beautiful curry/green silk blouse with the bows and the grey cape with embellishments on the shoulder. The skirt with the floral print brightens the look up whereas the fish net tights make it more edgy and fashion forward. As for accessories, she is wearing a Fendi Peek-a-Boo Tote, a Miu Miu Patent Platform Loafer Pumps and an Ann-Marie Faulkner Brocade Beret. I usually despise Fendi, as my readers know, but this bag is perfect. It matches the blouse and has cute gold studs on the bottom and a top handle, which is in with all bags these days. The shoes are in a deep red tone, but any shoe with ankle strap is a winner and they suit the Blair-esque style. As does the beret. All in all, she might be walking down Boulevard Haussman in Paris in this look and would blend in perfectly well. I also love the hair. Volume, curls and all, it’s like the old Blair hair is coming back.

I was a little upset with the New Year’s Eve Dress choice that the stylists made, since it could have been way more elaborate, especially since we are talking about Blair. But the Naeem Khan Rosette Dress is a gorgeous option, nonetheless. I love red on Blair, almost as much as blue, and the gorgeous bead work on it and floral print is amazing. The dress cinches in at the waist and has short sleeves. She paired it with a bright red clutch and a pair of earrings with is elegant and definitely not overwhelming, all though I don’t like the clash of the red’s. Her hair is parted in the middle and loosely curled, swept over her right shoulder. The make-up is too simple, going with more of a day look rather than a smokey eye or bold lip. For her arrival/departure at the part she wore an Alice + Olivia ‘Lela’ Flounce Coat. It is gorgeous! Black, sequins and so elegant.

Father and The Bride Fashion Review: Blair Waldorf

Look 1 included a Carolina Herrera Spring 2011 Organza Dress paired with a Diane von Furstenberg Milford Alpaca Coat. Throughout my fashion reviews, whenever Blair wore blue I raved on and on how she should wear more blue. The Fashion Gods were on my side. Again! The dress is (even though you can’t see much of it) a bright shade of blue mixed with black and purples. The fabric seems so airy and the shape is perfect for a princess-to-be, therefore, no complaints. The coat is another amazing choice. The aqua blue, flared sleeves and more jacket like than coat looks to die for and matches that dress so well. As for accessories she’s wearing a pair of opaque blue tights, a pair of Stuart Weitzman Time Platform Pumps, a royal blue beret and a Foley + Corinna ‘Mega Parcel’ Oversized Clutch. The shoes not only look gorgeous, they match the look and are even better looking when worn with tights. The big clutch is becoming a quick favorite of mine, simply because it’s not tacky and chunky but instead classy and elegant and the right kinda bag for a day out. As a lover of Paris, a beret was only fitting. Her hair is more beautiful than ever, having it styled in curls, like in the olden days, and her make-up is Blair-esque and super chic.

As for look 2, Blair wears a navy/grey embellished dress together with an Alice + Olivia ‘Teagler’ Sequin Patch Pocket Peacoat (on the right). The dress is casual chic and definitely Bachelorette party material. It also looks incredibly comfortable. I love the navy blue / grey color of it and the long sleeves to match the weather. The plunging neckline and embellishing around the neckline and down the front of the dress adds elegancy and a “party feel”. The coat is also very chic with the sequins and fur collar as well as the big silver buttons on the right side. Accessory wise, I spy a pair of Alexandre Birman Python Mary Jane Pumps and a pair of RickRocks Faceted Sapphire Earrings.I love that she is wearing more and more tights, especially opaque ones because you can still see skin but it just gives it a more grown-up and parisian look. Also, it is winter, so who would ever step out into the cold streets of Manhattan tights-less? My favorite part about the outfit, as always, the shoes! The perfect polished silver ankle strap pump is a major killer. So sexy and a perfect match to the dress.

Mayor Hobknobs with Gossip Girl Stars

New York City Mayor Bloomberg was all smiles when he went for a photo-op with some of the stars of Gossip Girl the other day. The show, as everyone knows, is set in New York, and it is celebrating its 100 episode this week, which is why this is such a huge thing for everyone.

The Mayor has in fact declared this to be “Gossip Girl Day” all over the city.

The mayor said that he doesn’t get to have pictures with the celebrities shooting in New York everyday. There are over 23 productions slated in the city, so far, throughout the TV season and a total of 9 prime time shows have been set in New York over the last decade.

When Gossip Girl was just starting, they were told it would be quite impossible to shoot in the city because of the expense and the complicated process and logistics. The were instead recommended to use a studio in LA and transform this into their own Central Perk, but the producers of the series didn’t want this.

“It became our mission: New York, or bust. We are honored to shoot in this city. There is no Gigi without NYC.”

The Mayor admitted, however, that he was not a viewer of the series, which is aimed at the young demo. Although he did suggest that maybe Gossip Girl is, in fact, Serena’s cousin.

Georgina Sparks is Gossip Girl?

Who saw the big reveal coming? Who knew that Georgina Sparks was actually Gossip Girl? Who is convinced that she is?

The impact of the reveal was actually lost on me and I don’t know why it didn’t surprise me one bit to find that it’s actually Georgina behind the alias. I was more surprised that they made the revelation since I was expecting the show to do this when it’s finally the last episode of the series.

So, why did Gossip Girl come out? Is it to make the show’s 100th episode more significant? And what does this mean for the series? Will they not have a six season back?

I was also a bit skeptical about the reveal. Is it really Georgina or was she just able to hack into the new Gossip Girl blog?

With this new information for the show, it looks like Michelle Trachtenberg, who plays the character, will be upgraded to regular staff status. Will she start doing the narrations for the show after this? I’m gonna miss Kristen Bell’s voice, if that happens!

Father and The Bride Fashion Review: Serena van der Woodsen

This has to become one of my favorite ‘Serena on the town in daylight’ looks! The most coveted colors of fall and some gorgeous designers make an elegant choice. Serena is wearing a Haute Hippie Embellished Mini, a Marc by Marc Jacobs Quad Sweater and a Vena Cava Judy’s Coat. The skirt is covered in sequins, ranging from yellow to copper and is of course, super short. To pair that is not as easy as it looks but the stylists have picked a great option, Marc by Marc Jacobs is the only way to go. The popping red with the black strips of sequins across? Ah-mazing. The coat is another chic option! The dark grey doesn’t overpower the outfit or takes away from it. Accessory’s include a Valentino Demetra Leather Satchel, a pair of Rachel Roy Cabrey Boots and a pair of Dara Ettinger Black Geode Earrings. The boots are so parisian chic, suede and silver plates on the platform and the bag is surprisingly not at all hideous. Her hair is in a ponytail with a side part and it looks as though the red hasn’t quite managed from the summer and gets picked up by the colors in the outfit.

Look two was more elegant than the first, but also kind of amazing. She is wearing a Sam&Lavi Floral Top, together with a Parker Leather Skirt. Leather skirt is the new trend and of course Serena would rock the look. I love black on her, not just because it makes a great contrast with hair and skin tone but because it’s such an elegant yet sexy color for her. The top is covered in florals with shades of pink, purple and red to give the outfit a little color. As for accessories she is wearing a Stephen Dweck Necklace, a Stephen Dweck Agate Ring, a pair of Alexandre Birman Heels and a Blvgari Bag. Sadly we can’t see the heels or the bag but I’m sure both are fitting choices. As for the ring, a key statement piece, missing no sparkle and gives the outfit a little edge. Her hair is parted to the side and swept over her left shoulder. Make-up is more dramatic this time, with a bold red lip and heavy on the liner.

Gossip Girl: Why is Serena Like A Secondary Character Now?

I am pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks Serena’s character on Gossip Girl went from being the main character to the secondary or supporting character. And it’s easy to explain why that is. There’s nothing remotely interesting about Serena now that she has started working and she doesn’t seem to have a boyfriend to go crazy over.

Party girl Serena has started to have priorities and is more concerned about the work that she does…which is probably a sign of maturity, but for the sake of her storyline in the series, there’s little material to work with here.

So the writers bring back this feelings of love she’s been having for Dan lately. What perfect timing it is to reconnect with Dan as a way to cover up for Blair. They agree to go with this fake relationship to save Blair from further hurting the two people who matter to her (Chuck and Louis).

But the thing is, Serena’s obviously more into this fake relationship than Dan. And as well know, Dan’s been wanting to get together with Blair and is even ready to profess his love for her. If Dan doesn’t see Serena the same way he did in the first few seasons, then surely, the girl is bound for another heartbreak because of Dan.

And at this point, she’s been there, done that…why else would they want to rekindle this?
