BLAIR WALDORF FASHION: 2nd half of Season 4.

So we all know that the Queen B of the Upper East Side has also always had a second throne…in the world of fashion.

From being the source of the ‘headband’ craze, to basically being the envy of girls worldwide for her impeccable designer wardrobe, Ms Waldorf has never had a point in the well-loved TV series when she has looked anything less than ‘WOW’.

So did we really expect Blair’s fashion sense to drop during the 4 week hiatus after ‘The Townie’? Not really.

Her outfits have only gone strengths to strength, and I know that I, personally, will probably end up with more than a few dents in the credit card trying to purchase some of the clothes Blair has worn in the past few weeks.

So, is anyone interested in what, and who, Blair Waldorf has worn in the second half of season 4? Let’s begin!

(I’m going to have to stick to 2 outfits per episode).

EPISODE 12: THE KIDS ARE NOT ALRIGHT

This is BY FAR my most favourite outfit worn by any of the characters in this episode!

Looking beautiful in this Oscar De La Renta (Fall 2010) floor length strapless dress, it’s a perfect fit for Blair Waldorf! It hugs her curves in all the right places, the sequins creating enough sparkle to make our Queen B even more glamorous than ever.

The Swarovski Manic Necklace ($250) and Kotur Morley Satin Clutch sets of the dress perfectly, the dark colours of the dress and the jewellery contrasting well with her skin and simple make up. Who else searched fanatically for that necklace? I know I did!

The other outfit of the day, consists almost completely of Louis Vuitton:

Both the skirt and jacket are Louis Vuitton (Resort 2009)- I LOVE the sequin and beaded gold detail at the sleeves of the blouse and, for some reason, this outfit reminds me quite a bit about how the old Blair Waldorf used to dress….we have to admit, her style has changed quite a bit, as it naturally would as she grows up.

Doesn’t mean I don’t miss the headbands.

Her gold blouse underneath is Magaschoni, and I think its quite cute how the bow of the blouse sticks out, onto her jacket. One thing never changes with Blair’s outfits, and that’s that there’s always quite a lot going on around the neck/chest area, AND (on most of her outfits anyway), there’s always a bow somewhere.

EPISODE 13: DAMIEN DARKO

Let’s put this as simply as possible: I FREAKING LOVE THIS DRESS!

Now that’s over…Has anyone noticed that B’s wearing a lot of black in the last couple of episodes? She does bring in a bit of colour soon so…

This BCBGMAXAZRIA Asymmetric Rosette Dress is amazing, and suits Blair very well…anyone else think there’s a bit of Audrey being channelled in this dress? Blair wore something similar to this dress in season 3, and that one reminded me of Audrey too. Her chunky accessories here bring some drama in her outfit (like B doesn’t have drama following her everywhere she goes anyway) – the Sequin cuff and earrings. Gotta love the girl’s accessories.

Okay, so this is the first time in a while we’ve seen Blair in type of clothing that isn’t a dress or a skirt…she’s wearing SHORTS! John Patrick’s pink high-waisted Organic shorts ($159) though, mind you, and she looks fabulous in them! I love the colour, and the fact that she’s showing of her tiny waist in this high-waisted number- the coupling with the Hue patterned tights and Ferragamo belt is great (kudos, Eric Daman).  The Valentino pearl cardigan and Usai blouse sets off the shorts too, and somehow  Blair wears so many contrasting colours in one outfit and manages not to clash or look like a kid’s finger-painting exercise.

EPISODE 14: PANIC ROOMMATE

Does anyone else think that Blair looks really innocent and sweet in this picture? Though Blair does seem to have mellowed out a bit in this half of the season…I think her more mellow attitude can be seen quite well in this outfit.

Once more, Oscar De La Renta plays a part in Blair’s clothing- this time being her mustard coloured blouse ($790). Blair also wears a Bensoni striped skirt here (not well seen this image…sorry!), with a pricing around $322. I love Blair’s bag (Lodis Cayman, $228) and the Bensoni Fall 2010 coat, which is gorgeous….

WOW! Finally, Blair embraces some BRIGHT colours in this episode, her dress beautifully complementing her red lipstick. I just wish she had kept her hair down in this outfit though, I think it would’ve worked better with the dress (just my opinion though) to have her curls cascading down, to frame her face better.  This Versus Halter dress has a hefty price (though not for those of us from wealthy families with successful fashion designer mothers, living in the UES of course), $3055. Although I feel a dress like this doesn’t need a necklace, Blair’s necklace here is lovely (this is one of the items I couldn’t locate…is it Swarovski? If you know, let ME know!).

EPISODE 15: IT GIRL HAPPENED ONE NIGHT

OMG.I love, love, love this dress! Probably not on me, though. This Marchesa gown is just MADE for someone like Blair…it screams royalty and sophistication, what with the delicate-looking fabric of the dress, the lightness of the colour contrasting so well with the bold, gold floral print. It hugs all the right curves, and looks amazing while being conservative….I think Blair looks very serene in this picture, making her look even more beautiful. I was surprised (and disappointed) that Chuck, nor Dan (I’m not going into THAT can of worms. Yet. That’s a discussion for another article). Complemented her when she was dressed like this… The accessories, again, I adore- Blair seems to love her Swarovski judging by her Swarovski Nocturne Pierced earrings, $170 (who can blame her? Half of my jewellery case is full of their stuff).

Okay, so this image deserves monumental importance for the simple fact that Blair is wearing PANTS (or Trousers, if you’re British). Okay, I know she’s worn pants before, but it’s been ages! (Shorts don’t count). But the fact remains, if Blair wears shorts/ pants, they’re going to be high-waisted, like these Stella McCartney ones ($585), teamed with a Balmain Gold-breasted Double Brocade jacket ($3590). I love the fact that she paired up a pair of pants in a plain colour with something as dramatic as a gold jacket. It’s just….so Blair. The Maybe: Giuseppe Zanotti pumps suit this outfit well ($327), as does her Aldo Cypert bag ($45!), yet allow her jacket to be the centre piece.

EPISODE 16: WHILE YOU WEREN’T SLEEPING.

Although this isn’t one of my most favourite outfits of Blair Waldorf, I do love that she is wearing Milly, something I’m not sure she’s worn a lot of (but will be, looking at future coming episodes), but I do love their stuff. This chiffon daisy tee is $340 and, with its floral design, is right up Blair’s street. Also, Blair wears Bensoni brocade skirt and Roger Vivier Marechale pumps- I love the gold design on the shoes!

Okay, so, this outfit officially recognises Blair Waldorf as the epitome of office fashion- someone remind me to wear jackets like this to work! Blair really has been carrying off bold jackets recently- this Alice& Olivia Brocade one button blazer ($422) is just WOW (I want it NOW!). The coupling with the Milly Colette Sheath dress ($444) is genius, the horizontal patterning on the dress complementing the silver flower design on B’s jacket magnificently.

EPISODE 17: EMPIRE OF SON

Okay, the last episode in this article! Somehow, between biting my nails most of the way through this episode while screaming: ‘DAIR? OR CHAIR?’ at the laptop, I managed to make note of what Blair was wearing.

First off, I love the necklace that Blair has paired with her Jill Stuart ruffle blouse- the necklace is Louis Vuitton’s Teardrop necklace, and looks GORGEOUS with this ruffle blouse. I think anyone who loves Gossip Girl (Blake Lively is so lucky!) and fashion will be able to recognise the bag- the CHANEL spring 2011 mademoiselle bag! I am so getting one of these, though I think the price is around $1500. I also love this Ikasho 2011 Evita red felt hat, which matches her bag and (Tucker) skirt so well.

Okay, after the Marchesa gown in ‘It Girl Happened One Night’, this has got to one of my favourite Blair dresses! This dress is the Christian Dior (Pre-Fall) 2010 floral lace dress, and I think it matches Blair to the tee. The pairing with the dark tights and Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toe pumps is perfect, and sets of the dress really, really well. Of course, the Queen B is nothing without her accessories- This Sequin necklace has an unusual design, but contains the pearls that The Blair we know would adore.

So…That concludes the BW fashion of the 2nd half of Season 4!

It took me ages to research all the outfits- but if there’s any outfits I missed that that you wanted me to comment on, or any particular piece, just throw me a line, I’ll get back to you! I hope you guys liked this, let me know if this sort of stuff interests you, and if you would like to see a Fashion 2nd half of season 4 article for Serena or anyone else!

Until then,

Xoxo, S….
