Well all know and love Blake as Serena on Gossip Girl–her cool confidence and laid back, I-can-do-everything-without-trying attitude makes us wish to be as awesome as her. (Plus running around in designer EVERYTHING and kissing totally hot guys in Manhattan is definitely a plus!)

But is this character getting old for Blake? Hell no! However, this doesn’t stop her from wanting to expand her A-list resumé and go for something a little different, namely a poor Brooklyn mother in the new flick The Town.

So what did our normally glamtastic blond do to prepare for the role? She washed her hair with a dry, brown shampoo that made her roots look like they were growing in and her hair look grimy, and she did her eyes with dark, black eyeliner at night, reaching an effect of dirty, cakey makeup in the morning–a huge difference from Serena VDW and her other girl-next-door roles like on Accepted and Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

What do you guys think? Do you prefer Blake in her usual roles or are you excited to see her coming out of her shell and reaching out to different roles? For me, I’ll have to see her in the Town to check out what’s going on.
