It seems it’s rather early, but the stars of Gossip Girl have returned to the set to start working on their sixth and final season.

A crew member posted a photo of Blake Lively and Chace Crawford walking into the set, as well as a photo of Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester sitting and waiting for work to start. The cast members were wearing suits and gowns. What do you supposed this could be about?

The show returns to The CW this coming October 8th, Monday, which is like three months away and so I’m curious as to why they’ve started rather early with filming, considering there are also just a few episodes for this season. Is it because Gossip Girl is done by Winter? Are we all ready to say goodbye.

It’s good to see, however, that Ed Westwick is still in the cast. Rumors of him maybe deciding not to be in the final season were floating on the internet. Having him on the set this week debunks all those.

The cast, however, temporarily took a break for the fourth of July celebrations with their friends and family.
