What in the world?! Like many who watched Gossip Girl this week, it was hard to process that Bart Bass, Chuck’s father, who has been dead for about three seasons now…is actually alive.

This came out of nowhere and the last couple of episodes will surely provide answers to why this happened. And we could only speculate why Bart faked his death.

He could be in great debt and only his death will be able to absolve this.

He could be in great danger, as some people usually are…some moneyed people that is.

He could be under a witness protection program. Rich people usually get themselves involved in a lot of controveries and mysteries.

But whatever the reason is, I think it’s rather selfish to let Chuck believe he has died all these years. It was irresponsible for a father to give his son his own the responsibility, something that Chuck wasn’t ready for.

At a young age, Chuck was relied on to run the Bass empire. No 18-year old can brag about that.

Then again, if not for these turn of events, Chuck Bass wouldn’t have evolved into this more tolerable human being.
