Although this Gossip Girl matriarch isn’t exactly a series regular, I’ve come to love Cece for her charm and grace. She truly is a lady of character and despite all the things that the other women go through in the Rhodes family, she still has a big heart.

Cece died on this week’s episode of the show. And it was as Charlie/Ivy has feared. She had cancer and no one in her family knew about her sickness before her death except the fake Charlie Rhodes.

Caroline Lagerfelt, who played Cece on the show, is sad about leaving because she considers her on-screen daughter as a close friend.

She says “She’s got the most wonderful mother, but I sort of feel like her second mom.” It may have been really emotional for the both of them.

Lagerfelt, however, kids that it may not be the last we see of her character. She could come back in a flashback or in someone’s dreams — we may never know. And on Gossip Girl, these days? Anything is possible!

What will happen to Lily upon the death of her mother. And what about the real identity of Charlie? When will it all come falling down for Ivy?
