Most of you probably heard about the Catholic Church’s multifaceted disgrace a few months ago. Apparently, Taylor heard about it as well and the Vancouver Sun reported that she made some rather, um, crude comments about it while being interviewed on a New Zealand radio show.
“I was raised Catholic,” Momsen said. “I f—ed a priest once. I’m just kidding.”
Ouch.
She continued speaking of her displeasure with the Catholic Church and spoke of a song she wrote about the molestation scandal, entitled “Going Down.”
“It seemed like a very fitting song to write at the time,” Momsen told the interviewer. “It was kind of a f— you to all the molestation going on. It was just insane.”
She went on to defend her comments widely criticized about her use of a vibrator.
“I’m not a whore for masturbating, so f— you if you want to call me one,” she said. “I think women should equally be allowed to pleasure themselves as much as men. I think that if that has any more controversy than a man talking about pleasuring himself, then there’s something wrong with the world.”
While I applaud her zero-tolerance about the sex abuse scandal and obviously feminist approach to the vibrator situation, her lack of tact and sophistication is embarrassingly evident. I would think she should refrain from using expletives while on a radio show and more importantly, her I-hate-the-world persona is unbecoming to her as a performer. She doesn’t make herself more eloquent by being so aggressive.
