The DAIR Files, Theory #3: “I’ve finally found my center.”

Hey everyone!

It’s me again, back with another one of my crazy-desperate-Dair-fangirl-ramblings. Actually, another better name for this post would be “Why Dan/Blair will happen; aka the Light/Dark/Center Theory.”

Okay, so I’d like to speculate a little:

In the premiere, we have Blair saying:

“I’ve waited all summer to feel sparkly again, and I won’t be pulled back into the darkness.”

In re: Louis. I mean… wow. Blair’s season-end decision was made pretty much as soon as those sparkles appeared in the BLouis kiss, right? We have Chuck called the “Dark Prince” and “Dark Knight” on the show, while we have Louis making her “shiny” per Blair and Chuck (in the finale).

We also have Blair saying she’s relocating to Cloud 9/”Heaven” because of Louis and then saying “at least we won’t be lonely in hell” to Chuck, and Chuck saying that they’ll “go up in flames”/hell.

We also had the Florence song “Cosmic Love” which is ALL about light/darkness:

So clearly we have Chuck and Louis at opposite ends of the spectrum here. Last episode Blair voiced it when she said only Chuck accepts her dark side but doesn’t see all the rest. Contrasted with Louis, whom she fears will leave her over her dark side (something that could still come into fruition if/when he finds out about her cheating in the finale and her cheating = her darkness = Chuck).

So… my latest DAIR theory is that while Chuck and Louis are at opposite ends of the spectrum, could it be that Dan is the center? The balance?

It would also make sense with Dan’s storyline in that he struggles with being “inside” or “outside” and those could possibly represent Serena and Vanessa?

Apparently V has lines to him about being an outsider in the finale and references Serena as his way into the “inside.” Could it be that Blair would be his center?

Actually the whole concept for the show came from the book, in the books dan and serena arent meant to be together ( they go out like once but nothing reallv happens ) and neither is chuck and blair. When they were making the show they changed the storyline,so you never know whats going to happen with gossip girl. They probably wont end up together but i wouldnt rule it out entirely, if they can change there original concept so much why cant dair happen?

but dan can’t accept serenas darker side whereas he can blairs. dan always judges serenas mistakes so she always goes to nate who understands and accepts her more

blair is blair, dan knows she has a darker side but with serena he has her on a pedestal and thinks of her as pure so whenever she makes a mistake its shatters that image for him and to him its like hes losing her or shes changing. Have you ever had a friend who is so perfect? whenever they make a mistake it just seems so out of character that you immediately think theres something wrong or that there going off the rails. its

dan also know that serena has a dark side he always believes she changes when she makes mistakes bcz he’s afraid of losing her to her past remember season 1 that doesn’t happen with blair cause she is stronger

I think it’s no good judging GG’s people of their preferences to the light or dark side that girls and boys have. They always change. For instance, who would ever believe that Chuck suddenly grew up in the last episode – something that’s temporary as most viewers support, yet still important – putting B’s good upper than his?

By the way, do you know if GG will air next Monday regularly? I don’t know what happens in America, so I would appreciate if you helped me to figure it out.

I know this is NEVR going to happen, but I’m still kind of a sucker for Nate and Blair. They just were so cute together.
I also like Louis. She deserves prince charming. She DOES.
I think Blair and Dan are much too boring.
Nate and Serena are just weird.
I like Dan and Serena, they have chemistry.
Althogh I hate Serena SO much. She’s such a bitch but thinks she’s a saint (and somehow everyone believes her??). At least Blair is honest about being a bitch ^^
I HATE Jenny, good for her that she’s never to retrun again (don’t get me wrong, I loved season 1 Jenny …)
Chuck has to be a loner. He just does. I don’t know. For me he’s just not the relationship guy, more the lover boy.

Chuck alone.

No Jenny, no Vanessa.

I sooo love you for bringing this up that at least Blair admits that she’s a bitch and doesn’t try to cover it with the ‘cute face’ Serena always has. I soo hate Serena for getting away with everything.
I would still like if Serena and Nate ended up together because for me Nate has always been practically nobody, so they would compliment each other.
My absolute favorite is Blair and I would really love to see her as the happiest girl on the show and it seems to me that she could only completely achieve this with Chuck.
