Serena’s mid season break is over and she comes back wearing an Alice + Olivia Stacey Dress together with and Augden NY Brittany Cropped Cardigan. She looks gorgeous, obviously, and this dress is such a perfect choice for Serena. As we know, her style has become more refined and elegant throughout her time on Gossip Girl. The skirt of the dress looks a little tie-dye ish which can be cute, luckily in this case it is, but it could be a fatal disaster if worn wrong. Thank god Alice + Olivia knew what they were doing. The top of the dress is a to-die-for bustier: bedazzled, embellished and beaded. The repeating pattern makes it slimming and not too overwhelming for the eye, and the single row of stones add the perfect amount of juge. To add some more color and not make the dress too elegant looking, the designers added a piece of organza fabric in a nude color around the chest and shoulders. The cardigan, even though differently patterned, looks amazing. Keeping it in the black and white family and adding some structure and shape. Lastly, she is wearing a Mimi So Jackson Ring on her left hand. Her hair is styled neatly into loose waves, the “Serena” make-up is to be seen and dark polished fingernails.
Serena’s second look consisted of a Lorena Sarbu Sequin Scallop Dress. I am kind of disappointed that Serena wasn’t styled in a more extravagant way, since it is NYE, but we’ll make due with this. The dress is fabulous, it’s tight yet not ill fitting, it has long drooping sleeves and it is short. The dress gives off a mix of silver-ish/gold-ish kind of look but on camera it looked more cream than anything else. It has the same pattern of beading throughout and a plunging neckline. The edges of the dress and the sleeves are scalloped, hence the name of it and creates an overall aesthetically pleasing look. She matched the dress with a pair of dark brown tights, a necklace and a clutch. Her hair is parted in the middle and hangs loosely from her head.
