Hey people!

So. I guess we should all be kind of happy that Leighton got a cover in Australia. Yay. Woo. Eh.

What is going on here? The Fug Girls had none of it and this is what they had to say:

“I first saw this cover on Girl with a Satchel and I really wish someone had been here to see my face when it loaded in its entirety. Because of how I looked like I just got shoved off the Sue Sylvester Express, Destination: HORROR. You guys, I love Blair, but the more I see Leighton Meester in Non-Blair-Environs, the more I NEVER want to see her out of character, EVER. Eyes so smokier than mine during California’s last batch of wildfires, plus red lips (great, but big eyes AND big lips can make you look like a mail order bride as costumed by someone working on an early season of Law and Order), plus quasi-coy finger-biting, AND not-coy-enough hem lifting? WE GET IT. YOU’RE NAUGHTY. IT’S BORING.”

The internet is having a field day criticizing Leighton the Popstar looks as opposed to Leighton the Actress looks which were classy, defined and likeable.

I agree. Leighton the Popstar makes me want to keep watching Blair as if to try and remind myself of why I love her.

Like, hello? What is with you, L? Remember when you were fabulous? What happened?

@Sharon Tang- It was self styled largely considering the kind of celebrity she is. Also, the clothes aren’t the problem It’s the way she’s acting and putting herself out there.

i must admit though she cannot sing live,
but major singer/actress, she has everything in life
just because now she wants to experiment with her style, and find her identity

@Tasha- I’ve said this before and I’ll say it once again: SHE IS A CELEBRITY. SHE GETS PAID TO BE TALKED ABOUT. THAT’S HER JOB. HER JOB IS TO ACT AND TO LOOK GOOD. SHE DOESN’T EVEN DRESS HERSELF. SHE HAS A STYLIST.

If she didn’t want to be criticized, she would’ve have signed up for this.
And I’m sorry but if one more person tells me I’m attacking Leighton, I will seriously scream. Alexis, who is a big fan of Leighton did the same thing above and a whole bunch of commenters said they hated the look. The Fug Girls, who are more important than all of us, reiterated it.

Yeah, honey, if we had the kind of money that she does, and a stylist and a hair and make-up person, we wouldn’t have dressed like that. Not even be caught dead wearing that stuff.

What? She’s got style. Her own style. She doesn’t have to dress like Blair does because that would be boring.
I’m actually interested to see what she’s wearing because its cool, and its different. I’m not so interested to see, for example, what Blake Lively’s wearing because its all very Serena like and usually predictable.
I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but it really seems like there’s alot of bashing of her and Taylor Momsens style here when really – its just different. It’s new. I like it, and I know alot of other people do too.

@LexiiiXOXO- Saying her style is “different” is a total excuse. Taylor’s style is not “different”. It’s grunge and I love it most of the time. Leighton’s style, however, is wannabe Lady Gaga.
Nobody cares if she doesn’t dress like Blair. She never has. But it was nice and interesting and classy. Now it’s tacky. Sorry, that’s all there is to it.
